Beach
The bathing beaches along the Atlantic coast are as numerous as they are varied. Each has its own charm and character.
Biarritz, Mimizan, Biscarrose, Contis or Hossegor are known far beyond their borders.
Via Turonensis / St. James path
The Via Turonensis is the northernmost and longest of the historic Camino de Santiago routes in France. Originally, the path began in Orléans, but today Paris is considered the starting point. The route largely corresponds to the GR 655 long-distance hiking trail and has a total length of 1052 km (Paris to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port).
The Via Turonensis passes directly by our house (approx. 800 m away).
Bike
The French Atlantic coast awaits you with more than 1,000 km of cycle paths.
Cycle along the coast, partly with a view of the sea. The well-maintained and safe cycle paths lead you through beautiful landscapes.
Golf
Visit several top golf courses in the area. For example, play on the longest golf course (27 holes) in France, surrounded by pine trees and overlooking the sea. Enjoy the 18-hole course in Hossegor or take a short 9-hole course in Mimizan.
Surf
From the Dune du Pilat to the far south, the most beautiful waves in France run, bent behind pine forests and high sand dunes. Beginners and pros alike will find the right line-up at any time of year.
The beaches around Hossegor with their offshore sandbanks are among the top 5 spots in Europe.
Canoe
Discover water in a different way. A canoe trip, for example, on the Adour from Saint Vincent de Paul to Dax is a special experience. Other possibilities in the immediate vicinity depend very much on the season.
Sightseeing
The Landes Areal and the neighbouring départements offer a varied natural and cultural heritage. Places that are simply fun to visit and towns that are famous for their way of life. The Atlantic coast offers discoveries for the whole family!
Natur
Many nature reserves (e.g. Reserve naturelle Courant d’Huchet or the Reserve d’ Arjuzanx) ensure the preservation of botanical diversity and anthropogenic activities. The area of the Reserve naturelle Courant d’Huchet alone is about 617 ha and offers a wide range of exciting guided tours and different events.
